Feldenkrais Method

What is Feldenkrais?

The Feldenkrais Method is a unique somatic educational system designed by Moshe Feldenkrais (1904-1984). The method studies the nervous system and helps students discover and create new and more efficient movement patterns. Through increased awareness, students learn to sense and eliminate ineffective habits of standing, breathing, sitting and walking. Those with chronic pain and tension, as well as neurological, developmental and psychological concerns, can also find relief.

"Making the impossible possible, the possible easy, and the easy elegant."

Moshe Feldenkrais

"In short, health is measured by the shock a person can take without his usual way of life being compromised"

Moshe Feldenkrais

"Nothing is permanent about our behavior patterns except our belief that they are so."

Moshe Feldenkrais

"Health is the ability to realize our avowed and unavowed dreams."

Moshe Feldenkrais

INTRODUCTION TO THE FELDENKRAIS METHOD- WORKSHOP

In this workshop, we will explore the structure of the skeleton and how it provides foundational support for our movement. Through a somatic learning approach, we'll re-educate the nervous system and discover new movement patterns that unlock greater potential. By slowing down and tuning in to our body’s natural rhythms, we can refine our most basic movement patterns, making them more efficient and effortless. Inspired by Moshe Feldenkrais’ philosophy that the skeleton is a "weightless structure," we will learn how optimal movement—whether standing, sitting, or walking—can feel effortless when performed with awareness. This workshop is open to all, with no prior movement experience required. It’s especially beneficial for those dealing with chronic pain, tension, or developmental and psychological challenges.
